i love to play around with odd and or non traditional materials.....the hitherto unaccepted or unacceptable.........the body on this fly is made from Japanese silk thread i found at Walmart. LOL It's VERY cool stuff.....it verigated or segmented.....changes color every couple inches as it comes off the bobbin. You can wrap it by hand or use a bobbin holder. It's quite sturdy and does not fray like the expensive stuff sometimes will. Wink Hook is a Daiichi Alec Jackson Gold Spey 3/0.Tail is Amhearst Pheasent Crest.

Simple little fly that went in a frame for a plate that was auctioned at the FFF Florida Council Conclave. Amazing what can be done with just the simplest of little beads. Smile The dubbing used in the front of the fly is Pickwik dyed Seal Fur from my friend Lawrence Finny, the renowned Irish fly tyer who will be tying right next to me at the FFF International Conclave in West Yellowstone next month. We just tyed together in Ireland at the Irish International Fly Fair in Killyleagh earlier this month.Wink My wife and i first met Lawrence at The Spring Fly Fishing Show in Newark, England last year (2009).....he's a hell of a fly tyer and a wonderful person. To see his work go to my site or here. http://www.finneysflies.com .........Approve

TongueSome may have been tyed with fishing in mind.....but really they're tyed just for the sheer pleasure of tying, and as always, just to see what i can come up with that's simply about beauty....in and of itself.
