Join Geoffrey Schaake (Shaq) of The Angler's Net as he fishes the greater Capital District and Eastern Adirondack Region of New York State.
Geoff has been fishing and guiding the area for 17 years and specializes in wade fishing for the trout and warm water species that thrive in the area's rivers and streams. He brings guiding experience from Alaska's Bristol Bay Wilderness to New York.
Canoe Trips
Take a leisurely float in Geoff's 14 foot Old Town Osprey Canoe which has been outfitted to row down the larger trout streams and rivers which opens access to miles of solitude. Or paddle on some of the areas warm water lakes for Bass, Pike and Panfish. These trips are limited to single anglers due to space restrictions. Standard rates apply.
Spey Fishing the Great Lakes Tributaries.
Traditional Spey Fishing Salmon and Steelhead wade trips on the Salmon River and other Eastern Lake Ontario Tributaries. Learn the secrets to catching these trophy creatures in the most "Fair Chase" manner. Like all of Geoff's trips, all fish caught will be promptly photographed and released, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Due to logistics, please book these trips at least 2 weeks in advance and a $50 non-refundable deposit via check will be collected prior to officially booking the trip. Call for availability.
Spey Fishing Lessons
Spey casting is an art no more difficult to learn than fly casting a single handed rod. Geoff will help you sort through all the hype and get you fishing in no time. He can also show you that there is more to fishing with a spey rod than Salmon and Steelhead. Meet on one of the larger rivers in the Capital District after work on weekdays for an evening of learning. $50/hour based on available light. Weekend classes subject to regular pricing.
Guided Trips on New York's Battenkill, Schroon, Hudson, Mohawk, Kayadeross, and Other Area Waters of the Capital Region and Adirondacks
Rates:
1/2 Day Guided (4 hours of fishing time) $250 for up to 2 anglers. $75 for an additional angler. 3 anglers max.
Additional time on the water can be negotiated at $50 for the first hour. After the first hour, the rate adjusts to the full day rate.
Full Day Guided (8 hours of fishing time) $325 for up to 2 anglers. $75 for an additional angler. 3 anglers max.
A second guide may be acquired for parties of 4 or more, Standard Rates x 2 apply
Start times may be negotiated by the guide and client
