Description: Traditionally, in our area, the hendrickson, a size 14 to 12 pinkish mayfly with a greenish hue, is our first fishable hatch. They hatch when the water temps get consistantly over 50 degrees and come off in the afternoon. Spinnerfalls start a few days after the hatch begins and can start as early as 5pm and go all evening. The rivers in our area get great hendrickson hatches. This video takes place across several rivers and over 3 weeks during this hendrickson hatching activity. These bugs can and do bring up some of the best fish in the system. The other nice thing is that hendricksons bring up mostly wild fish, as the stocked trout don't reall target them too much. It's a searching game, so we use the canoes as a vehicle to look for noses.
